This book was presented to me at the exact time I most needed it! Job hunting can be a difficult process, but it also can be a rewarding process. You can learn a lot about yourself - how you handle setback, what your strengths are, what your passions and interests are, your attitude and philosophy toward the work you do, etc.
This book helped re-energize me during my job search, get me feeling motivated again and maintain momentum. Guerrilla Marketing is full of extremely practical tips and tricks to get to the hidden job market and more effectively breakthrough the over-saturated market. It provides specific examples of what works and what doesn't from a seasoned recruiter's perspective.
What I appreciate most about this book, in addition to the useful tools and exercises, is that I feel inspired again to find a job I love, working with people I love, doing work I love!

Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0: 1,001 Unconventional Tips, Tricks and Tactics for Landing Your Dream Job
David Perry's book helped to quickly secure a job for my japanese wife in Paris.
In less than 3 weeks, the deal was closed (which is pretty impressive for French standards ;-)
My favorite chapter is on interviewing (Hand to Hand Combat).
In short, I really recommend this book to all Job Hunters who want to get a competitive edge

From the moment you open this book to well after you've read it and visited their website, it's SELL, SELL and oh yes, more SELLING. All in all, there are some very crafty ideas in this book -- some of which are potentially unethical, depending on where you draw your personal line. Nonetheless, Levinson & Perry do a good job of flipping the coin to expose the other side of the recruiters' tips & tricks and some of the things you can do to hook HR and hiring managers. To see some of the other side, Google "Don't Hire a Liar" and look for the PDF file that Perry wrote on exposing job candidate liars -- another crafty, occasionally questionably ethical piece. The real distraction, however, is the seemingly endless selling the reader has to endure from the authors and a plethora of their cohorts. Hint: take a look at the back cover. One gets a strong sense that 20-30 different companies paid Levinson & Perry ad placement fees. I don't recall ever reading that much spam in a book before. Even the Guerrilla Intelligence stories strewn throughout the book smack of self-promotion. I didn't intend to buy an infomercial. So why did I give it 4 stars? If you're able to filter out most of the promotional pieces, turn on your email spam filter, and focus on the most important selling -- of yourself -- I think that you'll get a lot out of this book.

I read Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0 about three months ago. Using the techniques in the book, I targeted five companies and send guerrilla resumes to four of them. Three called me back within three business days and I am in the process of interviewing at two of the three companies.
The trick - detailed in the book - is to bypass HR and go right for the hiring manager.
If you are serious about finding a job - and if you're reading this review, I'll bet you are - you need to read this book.
I'll give it four stars, only because I'm waiting on offer letters... :)
